KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

 

Dr. Metin Toprak is full professor at Department of Economics at Istanbul University. He has been a member of National Team of Bologna Experts since 2009 and member of the Advisory Group on European Higher Education Area at Council of Higher Education (CoHE).

Dr. Toprak has been appointed as Chief Commissioner at CoHE Qualifications, Quality Assurance and Accreditation Commission (YOKAK) on 20 August 2014 and served one term. He used to be member of the Ethics Board on Research and Publication at TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). He served as rector of Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK University) (2015) and Vice President at National Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement (OSYM) (2016).

He also served as Vice President at Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (2004-2008) and Deputy Chairman of Competition Authority (2011-2013). He was on duty at Georgetown University in 2006-2007 academic year and at International University of Sarajevo in 2018-2019 academic year as Vice Rector responsible for research and international relations.

 

 

 

Dr. Éva Erdélyi was born in Novi Sad, studied Mathematics at Eötvös Loránd University Budapest, and later achieved a PhD degree in the discipline of Plant Production and Horticultural Sciences. She has been teaching since 1990 at several Universities, and beside the ‘Best Lecturer’ award she got the ‘Research in excellence’ award at the Corvinus University of Budapest in 2010. She teaches courses on Mathematics, Statistics, and Research methodology in tourism, and creativity development. She is very much interested in applied fields, and in working with talented students. Her various scientific and research topics include climate change impact analyses, climate change impact analyses, surveys of regional adaptation strategies, modeling, and risk analyses, education methodology, environmental protection, rural development, sustainable tourism, life cycle analyses, carbon footprint of food products, food waste, etc. She is presently (from 2011) an associate professor at the Faculty of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism at the Budapest Business School – University of Applied Sciences, where she has also supervised many diploma theses. From 2013 she is the senior leader of an Advanced Economic Studies Programa at the Faculty. Besides she is a member of the Doctoral School Landscape Architecture and Landscape Ecology at the Szent István University, and has supervised PhD thesis. She was involved in many research projects, is working on improving methodology, but also evaluating case studies and application assessments, focusing on sustainability and the environment. She is a member of scientific commities and scientific societies and a reviewer of books, journals and research projects.
